The Perfect Time to Get Naked!

July 1, 2011 4:15 pm - Posted by Countess Rose Perry in Drink

This is indeed summer and the heat is on. The perfect time to Get Naked!

Naked Winery naked, that is. Naked Winery is nestled in the state of Oregon. Thriving on her fertile soil and spooning with Columbia Valley, Wahluke Slope, Rogue Valley, Applegate Valley, Columbia Gorge and Willamette Valley to produce the sexiest wines on the west coast.

Naked Winery winemakers and owners are shroud in mystery, which I believe adds to their salaciousness and ability to pump out Oregon’s most amorous wines.
The Naked Winery has a seductive selection of wines under their “Naked” label and a limited amount of intense, sinful wines under their “Orgasmic” label. I’ve enjoyed many of their reds, including the Penetration Cabernet Sauvignon and Diva Sangiovese. However, in suffocating heat, red wine, no matter how amazing, is simply unfathomable. Avoid wine altogether? Unthinkable, I’d rather just pop open a bottle of Naked Winery’s 2009 Tease Riesling.

Tease Riesling lives up to her name by teasing you from the moment you pour her into your slightly chilled, long-stemmed glass. Translucent hints of lemon chiffon and light goldenrod color hues shine through and dare you not to take a sip. Delay that pleasure if only just to take in the sweet aroma of Coney Island lemon-lime cotton candy, ripened honeydew melon and summer fresh watermelon rind. Don’t let the somewhat syrupy aroma trick you into thinking you are going to sip liquid sugar cane.

Like any true bad girl, this Tease has both sweet and not so sweet sides. Your first taste will coat your tongue with the tart: a youthful blend of sour skittles pineapple and raspberry sour patch kids. Then a flood of the sweet: like memories of apples dipped in honey on Rosh Hashanah. The mouth-feel of this Riesling is crisp and brisk like a playful romp in the hay on an autumn day. Tease is light on her feet with a body to match. Her finish is a refreshing and invigorating spritz of citrus peel and blood orange flesh.
Tease Riesling won’t quench your thirst or re-hydrate you in sauna-like temperatures. But it will soothe your soul, please your palate and reward you for making it through your work day without stripping naked, triggering your office sprinkler system and stand right underneath it.

What about you? What’s the sexiest wine you’re drinking these days? We want to know!
